5 Ways to Alleviate Carpal Tunnel Pain

3) Ice it. Put an ice pack or bag of frozen peas on the painful area, which will help reduce inflammation. Wrap an ice pack in a paper towel, and place it on your hand or wrist for five to 15 minutes.
4) Tweak your diet. B vitamins and omega-3 fatty acids often help alleviate carpal tunnel symptoms. You can take supplements or eat foods like leafy greens, whole grain, salmon, sweet potatoes and blueberries. Take vitamin B6. Research studies have shown that symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome are associated with vitamin B6 deficiency. The typical dose of B6 for carpal tunnel symptoms is 50mg two to three times a day. However, you should check with your doctor for his or her recommendations.
5) Drink up. Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water, which will ease inflammation.
